Well let me just say this... with Chel you just never know whats going to happen. And the same goes for FBHL. Like with any other sports, their are upsets and man their were a lot this past week. Lets go over them, along with some highlights, and then the power rankings.

  1. St. Louis some low moments and some high moments last week. Beating Boston 5-4 helped show them that they can compete with the top team. But they lost to middle of the pack teams like Buffalo and then also the Isanders as well in back to back games. They did shake off those losses by absolutely dominating the remaining teams in thier schedule by breaking double digit goals 3 out the next 4 games.

  2. New York Islanders as said before had a key win over St. Louis which they should be proud of. But they had losses against Arizona and Anaheim. If the Isles are going to plan to make a deep playoff run, these are the type of games that they need to win. They sit 2 games above .500 right now with a handful of games they know they should've won. But with key wins over Pittsburg last week and St. Louis this week they are proving to everyone that they are serious contenders. Consistency is key for them moving forward.

  3. Toronto Maple Leafs have a lot to be proud of from this past week. Having key wins over Edmonton and Chicago proves that they are who they are. A top team and a serious contender to win it all. But they did lose in ugly fashion to Anaheim 1-4, who is a team still working on getting above the .500 mark. Of course Toronto shook it off and went on to win their next 3 games, including a key win over Edmonton 3-2.

  4. Anaheim Ducks for a team in the middle of the pack, they may continue to surprise everyone. Beating teams like Toronto and close game with the Islanders shows that they can compete. Other times they look like they can't do anything well. Going last week 4-5 I can bet they will try and see if they can't get above that .500 mark and they might have another upset or two thrown in there.

Okay this is going to be something new I do so bare with me. Highlight clips from the last week. In the future if their is a highlight play you do, send it to me and I will have it posted in the recap. At the end of the year we can do a vote for play of the year. Now let's get to the highlights.

What a game winner!

What a pass!

With each week we will have more highlights and better ones. I watched over 12 streams in my spare time and this is what I could gather. So if you have more, please send them.. Thanks.

  1. Boston Bruins are still my number one team. Yes the Blues beat them, but defense wins championships and they have the number one defense in the league. A top 5 offense and one of the most disciplined teams in the league has led to good hockey and an aggravating team to play against. Mugfxrd (19 goals, 25 assists) and xStutzle (21 goals, 22 assists) continue to lead their team offensively. Sweetdilly and Darthvader2297 continue to make a case as the best goalie tandem in the league. Good luck scoring against this team.

  2. St. Louis Blues have a strong arguement for the number one spot. Offensively they're the best team in the league and its not even close. Reider15-15 (27 goals, 51 assists), XNuckzyX (32 goals, 27 assists), and Sxderblom (35 goals, 24 assists) are the top scoring trio and it seems nothing is slowing these guys down. Defensively the have the 3rd best defense and honestly the forwards are great at forechecking and the defenseman don't allow anything easy. It helps having x11Ninja and XxSalvi as the duo goalie tandem too. St. Louis and Boston I am sure are going to swap between the top 2 spots this season, but for now they will stay at number 2 for the second week in a row.

  3. Chicago Blackhawks are figuring things out and it has them in the top 3. Lowkey_link69 has put together a nice string of games and is leading the team in points (23 goals, 25 assists). They have 7 players with 20 points or more so they have proven depth. Dadrizzle is having a solid output at goalie so this team is doing all the right things.

  4. Edmonton Oilers are being led still by ZTurnzyy (20 goals, 24 assists) and x-Hyper27 (6 goals, 30 assists) and it seems like nobody is going to stop them. They are scoring a lot of goals but outside of them two depth is still the question here. Defensively they have some question marks but have a solid answer in net with WVU7_PENS87. Let's see if they address the issues and make that extra push.

  5. Toronto Maple Leafs are probably the most balanced team in the league. A top 5 offense and the 2nd best defense has them in a good spot. xMxrphy-8 (16 goals, 23 assists) is leading the team offensively and defensively this team is just in the right place at the right time. Positioning defensively has made it pretty easy for their goalie, awlr-0609 post a 9-4 record. Let's see if they can continue their dominance on both sides of the ice moving forward.

  6. Pittsburgh Penguins have had a good start so far. A top 5 offense and a top 10 defense has put them here at number 6. JP029 (32 goals, 9 assists) has continued to make a case as one of the best snipers in the league and with help from Gum--09 (17 goals, 13 assists) and Kl12mack (19 goals, 10 assists) the team is going to get their goals. Them trading for bucktowners and Moritzseider53 will help them and they look to be a good team that can compete with the best.

  7. New York Islanders are a better team than what their record shows. A top 10 defense and top 10 offense puts them here at number 7. They just inconsistent offensively and that is why they sit at 10-8. If they address their needs soon, this team can climb up the rankings and make a good run in the playoffs.

  8. New York Rangers pulled off a trade to get Egyptian_yeahx22 (17 goals, 16 assists) and it may be the extra firepower that they need. But I did watch quite a bit of their games and one thing I did notice was the amount of breakaways and 2v1s they allowed defensively. Defense they do need to address and I think they will be my darkhorse candidate to make it to the cup.

  9. Vegas Golden Knights is here only because of their defense and goaltending by Ice_uck97. They are the 4th best ranked defense, but offensively they just don't have the firepower right now. If they address this soon they could easily climb up the rankings fast. Defense wins championships, but you do have to score goals too.

  10. Seattle Kraken see them sitting here because of a similar situation with Vegas. Deffensively they have a top 10 defense, but lack the firepower offensively. They do have depth offensively, but are lacking that one or two guys that can take over when they need to.

  11. Arizona Coyotes have continued to lean on their UFA, Darkside_reborn (21 goals, 24 assists) and also Ozzy77 (23 goals, 19 assists). They need depth at goalie and maybe just one more solid dman and they could turn around this season.

  12. Anaheim Ducks are also a team that is better than their record shows. They are just a victim of playing in a tough conference. They have some question marks offensively, but have a solid defense. They could turn this season around, but it's going to take their top players to step up to the plate and start scoring some goals. They have surprised a few teams and put together some upsets so you never know what you'll get from them.

  13. San Jose Sharks just seem to can't get it going right now. They are solid offensively, but defensively they are a bottom 5 team. They are still moving around their goalies trying to find the answer there.

  14. Detroit Red Wings have a top 5 defense and an underwhelming offense, which is why they are where they are at. Cmm_19no2 is doing his job and keeping as many pucks out of his net as he can, help is needed offensively so he can get a break. Having the 3rd ranked worst offense isn't getting any team far. They could make a trade for some solid scoring forwards and they would be a very, very good team.

  15. Carolina Hurricanes have a top 10 offense and that's why they are not further down. Having the 2nd worst defense isn't going to get the team far. The goaltending isn't the issue. Chef_Pietro and deadlyone910 are solid goalies, but they need defensemen that can help take some shots away and stop allowing so many people just walk into the slot for an easy goal.

  16. LA Kings need some answers at both ends of the ice. Having the second worst offense and 4th worst defense they are lucky to not be last. They have solid goalies, but the defense is allowing to many shots and the offense has trouble scoring.

  17. Florida Panthers have the 5th worst ranked offense and the 1st worst ranked defense. They need an answer at goalie and some of their best players are not playing in enough games. Long term goal is they may be looking to build through the draft.

  18. Buffalo Sabres have the 3rd worst defense and the first worst ranked offense. Surprisingly they won a game last week, but it seems they may be eyeing towards the draft and start rebuilding there.

Well that's going to be it for this recap for this week. This week is an off week for FBHL so everyone enjoy the crossplay. Until next time everyone, peace out.
