Slotty's Summer Showcase has been quite the battle early on this season. With 16 teams for the showcase, the standings have been very, very competitive. With 3 weeks in, we have had 3 different number 1 teams so far.

So how are the 16 teams doing? Well, that's what we are going to go through. I will be giving a full breakdown on who I think the top players are at each position so far, and we will go through each teams season so far. Let's Go!

ree

LW: Lecesse (Detroit Red Wings) - When you have only played 15 games and have 55 points (27 goals, 28 assists), that will set your team up for success in most cases. Lecesse has been on a tear this showcase early and with the way the team is structured, I don't see him letting up any time soon.

C: Bobbys_rash (San Jose Sharks) - Bobby is one of those guys who can pull of a timely deke to expose the defense at any given time to make a play for himself, or his teammates. Which is why with 13 games played, he has put up 50 points (16 goals, 34 assists) so far. With his team in the middle of the pack, this is nothing Bobby hasn't dealt with before. Remember where the Bandits were last season and where they finished?

RW: Lecupidon (Vegas Golden Knights) - His skill is ridiculous, he is number one in the league in goals and assists, and his team is number 1 in the league currently. Are his numbers inflated a bit because of blowout games? Yes. But nobody is even close to his numbers. Lecupidon has shown up in the games that they are facing similar skilled opponents. This team is structured to score high goals, and he has done just that.

Defense: Rockshow84 (Nashville Predators) - For a defensemen and only have 2 hits should be a red flag right? Not in this case. Rockshow84 has proven to have a knack of taking away the puck and reading the offense better than the offense can. His high IQ has led to him getting 108 Interceptions (2nd in the league) and 54 takeaways (6th in the league). Oh! And he is getting involved in the offense too with 12 points (2 goals, 10 assists) in just 11 games.

Defense: Twinetwickler301 (Detroit Red Wings) - Defense does win championships. When you have argueably the best defensemen in the league, you are in pretty good shape to have a good season. Twine is 4th in Interceptions in the league with 106 and 7th in the league in Takeaways with 53. He is having the chance to showcase his offensive side more and is averaging 2 points a game. Sitting at 26 points (5 goals, 21 assists) he is destined for another Norris nomination.

BLuNTx_xWaRri0r (Vegas Golden Knights) - I know this will be a hot take, but nobody can deny that Blunt is one the best goalies in the game when he is on. And well.... for this Showcase he has been on. In just 12 games, he has only allowed more than 3 goals ONCE! Posting a .842 save percentage and 2.28 GAA, the guy is reminding everyone that he is that guy.

Honorable Mentions: Titanic_Candle9, DarkPhoenixJosh, Runlikeheii-, Ikizabika, Freezemothasucka, Mahomie

1. Vegas Golden Knights (16-6-2) - Boy does Blunt knows how to build a team. This teams starting lineup is one of the best in the league. Lecupidon is the main star on this team to initiate the offense and their defense is very, very good. They're first in the league in Goals Allowed with 60 and 2nd in the league in Goals For. This team is a team that is built very well. Stellar goaltending by Bluntz and Clark Kent has led them to an amazing .834 Save Percentage and 2.30 GAA. Is there a weakness in this team? I don't think so.

2. New York Islanders (17-7-0) - The little brothers of New York are making noise for this showcase. Having a top 5 offense AND defense will do that. I won't be biased since I run the team, but I will give my due diligence. Grim and I wanted our focus in the draft to be defense first and that is what the Isles pride ourselves on. Depth at defense and only searching for quality shots. It has been a recipe for success as of late. Krazykid being in the top 10 in goals (24) is no surprise. Quackstacker and Pc3poseidon have proven to be a great duo, but with Quackstackers consistency between the pipes, pc3poseidon needs to step up in the big games when his number is called. The leadership of Slot, Buff, and Grim have proven to be successful for everyone.

3. Colorado Avalanche (15-6-3) - The first thing I notice on paper with this team is the firepower these guys have. I mean look at this: Mahomie, Rejects77, BestFlicks, xFunkx, Spawn21, Mesmerize, JPEPPER76, Agger33, Big4Life250, and EagleEEE141. That's just the guys that I know well. One thing I can say is, this team is built for the playoffs. With one of the top goalie duos, Mahomies ability to initiate the offense, Aggers 's ability to quarterback the powerplay and lockdown the defense, and honestly pick a goalie. Either one. You're not scoring on this team much. If any. This team is built to score and has brick walls in the net. What more can I say.

4. Philadelphia Flyers (15-7-2) - Broadstreet Bullies are at it again! Dadbod and Bloodynumber are doing their best impression of them for their team. But instead of defensively being bullies, the are being bullies to their opponents net. Dmacjr2 and Fluri27 have combined for 98 points in 14 games. They have proven to be one of the top duos in the league. The dangles and dekes from Spiderx8xMonkey will always make the Top 10 and Jskeeter will always find a way to put up some points every game. The team seems to have found some answers defensively as of late. Bloodynumber has definitely kept them in some games and I am sure he is always going to be looking for ways to improve his defense, so he can breathe a bit. Watch out for these guys. They will light up your scoreboard like a Christmas tree!

5. Detroit Redwings (15-8-1) - The team that may seem to be the most balanced team in the league is sitting at 5 only because of a mediocre week. Other than that, this team has been firing on all cylinders. Twinetickler301, Rbobby1420, DarkPhoenixJosh, and DefenderM_kline may be one of the best dmen lineups in the league. Top 3 at least. And the surprise of the showcase in Ikizabika at goalie, has only solidified their defense. Ikizabika has been making clutch saves after clutch saves to keep them in games. But, their offense is being led by one of the top players in Leccese23. New addition, Mori-59- looks like he is finding his groove with the team and having a go to scorer in XxPigeonNine0xX is just icing on the cake. This team is going to be look to climb back up to that number one spot, so be prepared AGL.

6. Pittsburg Penguins (14-8-2) - This team struggled early. The biggest thing that stood out to me at first with this team was that they have had 7 different goalies! They seem to have solved their answers though. SHADOWxplaz21 and Nfldsoldier1 seem to be comfortable back their and even with all their goalies, the team is putting up a 3.08 GAA and .807 Save Percentage! The team doesn't allow many quality shots defensively and they have 5 players over 24 points or more. The team is sharing the love all over and this is the type of team that can outplay any team, any game. This team reminds me of the Bandits from last season a little bit. Remember how far they got?

7. San Jose Sharks (14-9-1) - Now I know yall are asking the same question I am. How is the top rated offense, this far down the list? The DEFENSE. The team as a unit has allowed 577 shots! That's number 1 in the league and the next closest one is 120 shots less. The forwards are playing great hockey. RunlikeHeii- , Bobbys_rash, X-Kessel81-X, and KIDMON3Y all have over 40 points. I feel bad for my fellow goalies a bit because they are so much better than their numbers show. Time for the defense to tighten up. If that happens, this team could be the best team in the league and we would all be shark bait.

8. Buffalo Sabres (14-9-1) - Here is a team that at first everyone said was going to flop after not meeting their preseason expectations, but they are catching fire at the right time. Going 8-2-0 in their last 10 games, Spelliscy has the team playing lights out. Tekk112 putting up 44 points (27 goals, 17 assists) already is no surprise. Kbatch0914 is leading the defense and is looking to hold his guys accountable defensively. Once they tighten up a few loose ends defensively, they will be my darkhorse candidate for the cup. But, maybe they don't. I mean... the goal of hockey is to score more goals than they allow.

9. Boston Bruins (12-8-4) - This team is the most confusing to me honestly. Whitetees41, Sweet_Peach_69, and Goingtobeatu are some the more pure scorers in the league. Istealforks is a great dman, and a goalie trio in BRL0907, MirrorParty, and THEbigSP00N97 would normally be a recipe for a top 5 team. So what's the deal?! It's just not clicking for the team yet, but it is not too late. Goingtobeatu- and BRL, this is your time to shine as an owners and get the team together. If yall do it in time, wooo! The team would be scary with that offense!

10. New Jersey Devils (12-8-4) - Devils have been right there in most games. The team has had multiple games slip away from them. This team can compete with the best of them. Don't write these guys off yet. ThatboyKeene, Reep14, LAMBOx22 AyyTrain, and Choco Brown6890 are performing a high level. As repetitive as it is for me to say, this teams lack of success does come down to it's defense. Plain and simple.

11. Washington Capitals (11-13-0) - Here is another confusing case for me. The Caps either lose by a lot, or they lose by 1. They are either in the game or they are not. This is my biggest wildcard team in the league. The team from goaltending to defense is very, very solid. But the offense has been lacking as of late. Not to say that they aren't good. All their forwards have the ability to score at will. Believe me. I am normally the one getting scored on by these guys. But, it just hasn't been clicking for them yet. Don't count them out. Just like in Lyme's first stream of the season, this team has the ability to score 11 on you at any given game. Can they repeat it and keep in consistent though is the real question...

12. St. Louis Blues (10-12-2) - Trading for Siriushp0904 is a step in the right direction for the team. She is a very good defensemen.. woman and will help an underperforming team. They have solid goaltending, but their issue is they just haven't been able to score a lot of goals. Players like iTzBmac and xBxlchy need to be in the 20 goal range by now. It's time for some of the better players to step up to the challenge, or it will be a long season.

13. Nashville Predators (8-14-2) - Predators have looked like the prey as of late. Not because of the defense or the goaltending. But because of the offense. Trading for Yamesyahn will go down as one of the better trades of the Showcase and will boost this offense. They beat the higher ranked teams but lose to the lower ranked teams. Losing to Seattle and then Toronto twice are some games they wish they had back. But, beating the NYI, Flyers, and Detroit are games they can build on. The team could be 6-2 last week easy, but they will look to learn from their mistakes, or make them again.

14. Toronto Maple Leafs (8-14-1) - The laughing stock from week 1 is starting to look pretty solid. Digging themselves out of their rough start, they are looking to Newfyginger to turn things around and he is doing just that. They still have a long ways to go but, I can't help but respect what they are doing over there. As Tim Allen said in one of the greatest movies of all time, GalaxyQuest, "Never give up! Never surrender!"

15. New York Rangers (7-17-0) - The Rangers are just not looking great right now. But, thankfully they have a roster that can turn it around. Curtisx18x on any given game, can drop a hat trick and a half. MonkeyWrench304 and Rangerfan142 can lock things down with whoever they are running with. The subpar goaltending can be fixed if they can find a system that works well for them. Rangers can turn it around but it will be a steep hill to climb.

16. Seattle Kraken (5-17-2) - With it being the Xbox side I know its slim pickins right now with the amount of Xbox guys that are here currently but this team is so much better than the record shows. This is a team I could see make it into at least the top 10. But, The defense needs work and it needed it yesterday. Having Grayzer, Rosepetalkiller, and SDRACER619 in net would normally make you a tough team to score on but the defense is opening t the doors of the dam and letting everything in freely.

Well AGL, that is going to be it for me for this recap. I will be doing another one every 2 weeks. I just got a late start with this one and I apologize. Don't forget to tune into the KingLyme Media Team stream for game night and updates. And we will be having AGL Top 10 highlights as well so you don't want to miss it. As always, thanks for the read, will appreciate any feedback (nice or not) and will be back at it soon.
