Pre-Draft For Summer Season

What's up AGL?! We are just a few hours away from the Summer Season draft from starting and it's gonna be one of the bigger Summer seasons I think we'll have so far! Let's see where each team is drafting at, who they have already, and what they might do!

AGL KILLA BEEZ - 10th Pick

Eagleee141 and Cdubl13l

Now having the 10th pick you can tell yourself " We have a top 10 pick!" Yes. Thats true, but in a snake draft it puts you in draft purgatory. With the experience that Eagle and Cdub bring though, it shouldn't be an issue though. Eagle is a great goalie and a quality dman, while Cdub is a great all around player whocan elevate others around him. I would expect them to grab a top winger early and then build their defense, but both of these guys do their homework and I could expect them to make some selections that will surprise the nondedicated fellows.

Sharpshooters - 2nd pick

Having the 2nd overall pick will be nice for these guys and it will be crucial to land that pick for them. Whether its a dman or a quality forward, it must land for them! I wouldn't be surprsied if we saw Slimshady go here, but maybe they grab a dman instead! They'll be in a good spot with quick back to back picks in rounds 2-3 that will be huge for them as well. They are in a great position to land some big names, but since they are both forwards, they must land some quality dmen if they want the Sharpshooters to go further than they did last time.

AGL Toronto Maple Leafs - 18th

Thompson and Zomboy owning together will be a very intriguing team to watch this season. Both are very good defensively and are versatile. With them having the last pick in a snake draft, they will be missing out on top end talent, but with how slim the dmen are here, they could easily snag some top forwards that drop later. Thompson knows how to run a team and zomboy is the type of player that can make an impact with any lineup. How big of an impact can they make with the team that they draft? In what some would say a prime draft position, they don't want to miss out on this chance.

AGL Legends - 12th pick

Carm95/Pavelbure

So one of the top teams is returning with Pavelbure and the top rookie from last year in Carm95. A team that is destined to be a top team sits in 12th in the draft and this draft will come down to Pavelbure since he is the experienced one. He has consistently built great teams and with the team sitting at 12th, they will be in draft purgatory. I am confident that he will and his first few picks and Carm95 is someone that can carry a team. What about when Carm isnt playing though? Pavel needs to build a lineup for the 2nd line and I think that will be the biggest question is can he ? History shows he can. Can he repeat the success that he had last season?

ARMY OF SIX - 7th Pick

Nips/Bcbud

Okay so both of these players are gonna be guys to watch out for. They know their guys and they won't reach for them. Someone will need to upset their draft board a bit by grabbing one of their guys. Both are guys who have experience, but know what it takes to be competitive. I'd be shocked if they didn't draft a top forward, but they will draft well, unless the rest of the owners catch on.

Vanilla Icers - 3rd Pick

Okay... 3rd overall pick with one of the better performing centers from No Perks and one of the better goalies in AGL shouldn't be fair! Rigged? Nah, but I'm salty about it. 😅 They are in a prime position and could seriously grab a franchise altering player 3rd overall. Snake draft too so they will get quick back to back picks. If they don't make a deep playoff run, it would be a disappointment. No pressure fellas!

SEATTLE KRAKEN - 11th Pick

Here is two guys I know well. Why? Because they are frustrating to play against! Very smart players and they have a certain style of players I feel like they are going for. Sitting at 11th, they are in the purgatory part of the draft, but with the type of guys/gals they are most likely looking at, they may not have to worry too much. I wouldn't be surprsied if this team I'd a top defensive team by the first half of the season. Defense wins chips, but can they build an offense with a bit of firepower?

SOUTH OCEAN STORM - 9th pick

Bloodynumber48/nucks

One of the best goalies teaming up with the Weekend Warrior team will be one of the storylines to watch this season. Nucks consistently builds teams in WW that are competitive and if he doesn't make the finals most weekends, I'm shocked. This is chance though to show that you're that guy who can build a championship winning team. Having Bloodynumber48 is a great start in that direction, but let's see if Nucks can build a team, win, and stay composed when it gets tough. I know he will draft well, and Bloodynumber48 is running the team, but the spotlight is on!

TRASH PANDAS - 4th pick

This will be an interesting team to watch. Bringing the Trash Pandas back is always nice to see. Having the 4th pick puts them in a good spot and I like how versatile bxrtzy can be. It gives them flexibility and the option to grab the best player available consistently. The Trash Pandas have been underwhelming the past few seasons the made an appearance, but maybe they can lift them up out of the trenches and bring glory back to the name. Maybe...

AGL HAWKS - 13th pick

Persinger/sdex44

These 2 are gonna be a force this season. They know the players they want, sitting at 13th they may be at the edge of their seat as it's not the greatest position to some people, but these guys are some of the best at their respectable positions. I wouldn't be surprised if they went defense first here, but if a tip forward drops.... oooof. It's gonna be a long season for their division rivals.

AGl CANADIENS - 6th pick

Robxlaw/OG_55x

This will be an interesting team to watch in the draft. Having the 6th pick puts them in a position to grab a top player still, but the inexperience could be a fault from what I've heard from some. I think roblaw and OG will draft the best player available and that has worked in the past for some teams! The season for them will be determined by who they pick with the 6th overall pick. They gotta land this pick!

AGL FLYING DUTCHMEN - 16th pick

Here are two guys I know pretty well and they chose the best name in AGL for their team in my opinion. These guys have played on lines together over the years and it shows. Their chemistry is noticeable on ice and I expect alot of highlight reel plays from these guys. I'd be shocked if I didn't see them grab the best defenseman available, but I'm confident in these 2 to draft a good team and should be immediate contenders!

AGL WRANGLERS - 15th pick

One4rose2004/TPOS logie

These guys will be another interesting team to watch during draft night. A bit of a wildcard. I could see these guys shock everyone by making some selections that some may say are reaches, but One4rose2004 knows the type of players he wants and Logie can put up numbers, so let's see how their draft goes tonight.

AGL PANTHERS - 1ST OVERALL

With the first overall pick in a snake draft and first season owning, both of these guys will need to draft good! Both are talented players, and I could see them stack their offense early, but it could be easy for them to build a top heavy team that lacks depth if they are not careful. Just hours away fellas, so let's see how rounds 2-5 go for you. That's the picks that you'll have to land. We're all watching!

AGL WOLFPACK - 14th pick

This will be a fun team to watch. They could be competitive and I know Chef has put in work with scouting, and he's fairly knowledgeable of the players in AGL. Similar story as the Wranglers where they could have a good draft by taking the best player available, but if they really want to be taken seriously, it comes down to if they did their homework on the players or half assed it?

Violent Gentlemen - 8th pick

I could see these 2 doing really well early in the draft. Sitting at 8th, they are in a decent spot and could be in a position where they could draft a top 2 or 3 defenseman at number 8. A cornerstone for their team being solidified on the defense is great, but they may miss out on top end talent on forwards. These guys were fairly active in scouting and could make some great selections early, but I don't know if they did enough homework to add quality depth. They may have, but let's see how they do by the end of tonight!

AGL YETIS - 17TH pick

Here are two guys that most wouldn't expect to be running a team but they have done alot of scouting and are in a good spot with it being a snake draft at 17th overall. All eyes will be on these guys to build a competitive team but having the 2nd pick in the rookie round will be crucial for them to land. The lack of experience owning in AGL could come into play, but maybe the extra homework they did will make up for it. Time will tell right?
