AGL S6 Draft Grades!

S6 of the AGL Draft is in the books! Yall thought we would have a month to relax and scout?! Nope! Not how it rolls here! Moved up, Lyme and Apex , and Irish came in took some shots, barked back at chat, and worked their magic with the draft day selections! Big shout out to all the guys working behind the scenes on making sure it all ran smoothly! Couldn't do it without yall!

Before we get started with these draft day grades, let's keep a few things in mind... I drafting this based off my knowledge of the players and I feel like I know almost everyone pretty well. I'm pretty sure I've been coned and scored on by just about anyone here. I am making these grades based off of who they drafted and how well they potentially will gel with their squad.

Enough small talk though! Let's get it started!

ARMY OF SIX:

Breakdown:

Dradle and Bcbud drafted a very talent offensive team here. This team I would expect to be high up in goals scored for sure.

The defense is their as well and they selected 2 very solid goalies as well. Their potential starting core is going to be very good and their second line forwards will be able to hold their own as well. Only reason I'm giving them a "B" is because I am not sure yet if they have the at defense compared to others. Time will tell...

KILLA BEEZ:

Breakdown:

Eagleee, Cdub,and Hot_logger are no strangers to owning and it showed during this draft. Already cementing themselves as defensive minded guys, they approached the draft with that in mind by not reaching too far for the defenseman or goalies. The additions of bardownbarzal and goostav will already launch their offense towards the top, but rookie KasperRx was someone that caught my eye as well and he will be someone they can confidently lean on to bolster their 2nd line of forwards.

They waited patiently for their depth defenseman partners and they are both quality defenseman who have been around AGL for a while.

I said it during the draft in stream, but I will say it again. Getting OMAR72 as late as they did could be one of the steals of the draft! Somehow he always seems to fall and always performs well consistently every season.

This team could be a contender right off the bat, but I could see this team ride along the middle of the pack until playoffs get closer. Very well balanced team fellas! As long as everyone is happy on this team, they could be serious contenders.

Breakdown:

Poolzy and xshorey put together a solid team here. Some guys who can score the puck and create space with Bubba and Logan2214. The defense is their as well, although I feel like their team lacks that "starpower" forward and defenseman. I could be wrong and I have been proven wrong in the past.

They got a good quality goalie in Pemm and I feel like he will have alot of shots on him this season so you better warm up those thumbs... I feel like for the playoffs you need to lean on a guy sometimes to make that one play, and I don't feel like they got that guy. Defense wins championships for sure, but I don't see that on paper here. Prove me wrong gents💪!

MOOSE MEAT MAFIA:

Breakdown:

So this team absolutely killed it drafting forwards! Notledown and Virus knew who they wanted and honestly didn't reach at all. Grabbing Jcpens, Frenchy, and Kriceisrealnice where they did was superb!

Don't sleep on the S at RW. This rookie will make a statement on that 2nd line. He was pretty quiet during scouting, but his numbers speak for themselves in other leagues.

I like their selections at defense. With the offense they built, they can lean on them and the defense is good enough to keep most offenses at bay.

Their goalie tandem in Boomer and Cabrelix has the potential to be one of the better tandems in the league this season. Honestly I don't know who to give the starting spot to. Glad I'm not owning.

KING LYME ONLYFANS:

Breakdown:

Reapz ans Lecupidon who are already established owners and arguably top 5 at their respectable positions in the league have put together another juggernaut of a team!

BNAGS gives them the franchise dman to lead the core defensively and picking up Irishoddity and Ninjaminsky as their tandem at goalie shows they knew who they wanted and didn't reach.

Picking up Jonesy and Scooploops helps build their offense even more and should fit well on either line, depending on what the owners want to do. I expect this team to be towards the top early.

AGL PYLONS:

Yall saw me in the chats saying it early in the draft when they did what I thought might be the story of the draft. Twinetwickler falling to them in the 2nd round?! Call it glazing or whatever yall want, but I know these players in AGL and how Twinetwickler fell to the 2nd is beyond me. And to the champs! whitetees41 and Sliyumshady were licking their chops during this draft. Not once did they reach and they seemed to get a steal with each pick.

Offensively, be prepared to be on their highlight reels weekly. Defensively they have 2 top LDs and Feddy may be up their in top Gs in the league.

I could see the first them repeating with this roster. First back to back champs on AGL? Pressure is on fellas !

Breakdown:

Slotty and Barry landed that number one pick and picked Cjx19. Potentially might be a top 3 line in the league.

They solidified their defense and picked Bigpapapumpkin late in the 2nd. Pairing that with Hangerhog19 and Ghostelite-qc may be a recipe for success as one of the better tandems! Picking up Cibwar0000 as late as yall did should have some consideration as the steal of the draft.

Honestly, I can't see a fault on paper here. The only reason I can't give yall an A+ is because I have to ask myself.... can the defenseman core hold their own against the best in this league? I hesitate saying yes. After a few weeks, let's see if I have the same hesitation, eh? Good draft fellas!

Breakdown:

I love the first half of yalls draft! Oolan and Crafty_Mitts would be good for any line. Both will have some solid chemistry on the ice. Cloutier was a solid pickup for the dman core but after that, I feel like some selections were a reach. Maybe yall went after YOUR players and we will see what that looks like on the ice.

All in all, a solid draft that will perform very well against most top lines out there, but the depth makes me question how competitive the 2nd lines can be.

Breakdown:

This team that Ogrewhelming and Seanahue built might be one of the better defensive teams in the league! Inyasix and Rangerfan are both great early selections and solidifies a damn good tandem.

Picking up underrated goalies in TRILOGYTREEBC and LAMPORT1 when they did, allowed them to continue building an above average offense.

I couldn't give this an A because I'm not sold on the 2nd line offensively. That could change, but for now, I stand by my decision.

AGL DEVIL DOGGS:

Breakdown:

Okay... I would normally be opposed to taking a goalie in the 2nd round but if you want a top goalie, sometimes you gotta take a risk. Great choice! RDLacsy78 and Iwannatalktosamson built a solid team here.

The 2nd unit looks pretty solid on paper, and although, it isn't the sexiest names on the 2nd unit, the defenseman core is really well put together.

My biggest question honestly is when Bluntx_xwarrior isn't between the pipes, can Ray Huff hold it down? Can the 2nd line of forwards still put the puck in the net consistently? Consistency of the 2nd line is what I question. Time will tell if that remains a question.

AGL TRASH PANDAS:

Patrickisonfire and Bxrtzzy built a really strong team here! Bobbysrash has consistently proven he can carry the offensive load when his number is called and one of those guys who makes everyone around him better.

They built arguable one of the best defenseman cores in my opinion and didn't reach at all for any of their picks. Backblastdan was a solid pickup for them and he could be a candidate for rookie of the year with how this team is built.

The only thing that strays me away from giving this team an "A" is I know the guys on this team and the playstyle. I'm not sold that the chem will be there for all of them. Particualry the 2nd line of forwards. Who knows... I've been wrong before and could be wrong again. But if I'm right... well I'll be right?

AGL KLUSTER PUCKS:

Breakdown:

This is probably the most "solid" team so far! Rbobby and accer have built a just well rounded team here. Nothing crazy sexy, but nothing to ignore either. All really solid picks and could honestly be one of those teams that can just be consistent and surprise alot of people.

The biggest thing that stands out to me is the goalie tandem of Gleddy and Webhead to me. Both really good starting goalies! I think they will be the key guys in keeping them in games, but I stand by my take on this. Really solid team, just no "superstars" that I can see.

AGL SMOKIMG ACES:

Breakdown:

This was one of those teams I struggled with grading. Nucks and logie drafted a solid team here. It's honestly on when will and/or if it can all come together.

I know they scouted well. Picking up Lanehutson48 and Hopsin56 were some solid pickups for them and I know they will make an immediate impact. Whether we see One4rose2004 at RW instead of RD we will see. Regardless, he will make an impact defensively on the ice.

The question truly is if it this group can gel together, or will management have to make some moves to find the right fit?

AGL AKATSUKI

Breakdown:

Mahomie and Spawn are seasoned owners who know how to build a team. They did it again with very little questions to be asked about their roster.

I'm interested to see how Rockshow does jumping up from defense this season. It could honestly be a huge pickup for them! LMOREAULT_X_89L is a very solid player who I can't decide where he's better at. Defense or forward? A versatile player and great pickup to swap together with Rockshow possibly.

2 solid goalies in Auger-82 and Roddywrists should prove to be a challenge for opposing teams all season.

I like this team alot, but I can't grade them higher right now because some teams just drafted better in my opinion.

AGL TRAINWRECK:

Breakdown:

This is a team I think drafted amazingly. Not just because of their roster, but where they drafted their players at. Not a single reach here in my opinion.

This team I think will be top 5 in scoring. Honestly the amount of highlight reel goals we will see from them will be crazy!

Ghostbear1805 is my pick for rookie of the year and he fell into their lap in the rookie round.

They have solid defenders here, although I will say, they do lack that stud, lock down guy. With that being said though, I think this is one of those offenses that can overcome not having one during the season. Come playoffs, that's a different story.

Spit and MOJO are both solid goalies, but with that defense, I am wondering if maybe too many shots will allowed... Who knows? I could be wrong on this take.

Summary:

Alright! That's it for part one of the article. 15 teams down, 15 to go! Regardless of my takes, I want to see every team succeed. I've been in the chel community for years and know alot of the guys and gals here, so my opinions/takes are based off stats and the gameplay. I could be wrong on all of them or I could be right? Regardless though, I won't turn down an opportunity to say "I told you so" if I'm right. Chirp, cheer, or yell at me, part 2 will be out tomorrow. Thanks again to the best Chel community out their!
